It is a great pleasure to welcome Eva Richter to the Capriccio team!

Eva will work on her doctoral project as member of the third cohort of the research training group 2423 “Fracture across Scales” (FRASCAL). She is going to continue her exceptionally insightful work on fracture of thermoplastics, which she thouroughly investigated in her master thesis. Based on this, Eva will employ the Capriccio method to couple molecular dynamics and finite elements and to explore the mechanisms responsible for polymer fracture across various scales. An essential part is to simulate appropriately large system sizes necessary to capture the relevant processes in the vicinity of the crack tip in combination with the formation and propagation of crazes. In this regard, Eva has paved the way in her master thesis and we are very curious about her future findings.

We wish Eva a very good start and are looking forward to collaborating with her!
