From March 25th to 28th, Stephanie Chedid and Agustín Ríos (Institut de Chimie et des Matériaux Paris-Est), Fabrice Detrez and Moussa Lamamra (Université Gustave Eiffel), Maxime Vassaux (Institut de Physique de Rennes) and Sebastian Pfaller attended the 32th edition of the “Colloque sur la Déformation des Polymères Solides” (DEPOS32), which took place at Futuroscope close to Poitiers in France (region Nouvelle-Aquitaine). This conference brought together scientists and people from industry with explicit focus on the behaviour and applications of polymers and their composites. Among others, it addressed the relations between the materials’ microstructure and their properties for usage, coupling of multiple physical effects, the impact on the environment, aspects of recycling, contact mechanics, innovative manufacturing approaches, various questions of fatigue, rupture, and ageing as well as advanced simulation techniques. DEPOS32 was an excellent opportunity to present the activities within the French-German project “BIO ART” on epoxy resins and composites from bio-based sources, to meet experts from different backgrounds and to discuss scientific questions as well as future joint research activities. It was a great pleasure to attend this colloquium and we are looking forward to future editions!
