11th FRASCAL Seminar
On Friday, June 27, the Capriccio group participated in the 11th seminar of the research training group GRK2423 “Fracture across Scales” (FRASCAL, https://www.frascal.research.fau.eu/) with three presentations. In her talk entitled “Molecular dynamics simulations of thermoplastics: reaching up to the microscale”, Eva Richter presented her recent progress in fracture modeling of polymers using molecular dynamics simulations. Lukas Laubert presented the current status of his methodological investigations on the Capriccio coupling in his presentation on “Advances in continuum-to-discrete modeling and benchmarking the results”. In addition, Felix Weber gave insights into his studies on “Fracture modeling of amorphous materials: from molecular to continuum-based approaches” and provided an overview of the topics of his PhD project. As always, the seminar provided an excellent opportunity for the FRASCAL group to meet, discuss and exchange scientific progress and new ideas.
