Mathis Demeillat’s research internship
From 23rd of June to the August 1st, Mathis Demeillat visited the Capriccio group within the context of a six-week research intership. Mathis studies “physical engineering and embedded systems” in his master’s degree at the École nationale supérieure d’ingénieurs de Caen. During his time with us, Mathis investigated the fracture of thermoplastics under the supervision of Eva Maria Richter. He conducted molecular dynamics exeriments with lammps on the National High Performance Computing Center (NHR@FAU) and focused mainly on a parameter study regarding the coupling of different domains within molecular dynamics. Of course, in the off-time, joint trips to Garmisch, Mittenwald and the Anna-Fest in Nürnberg were a must.
It was great to have Mathis on the team and we wish him all the best for his future!
