Capriccio Mini Retreat 2025
In August 2025, we held our annual Capriccio Mini Retreat at the Fraunhofer Forschungscampus in Waischenfeld in the Franconian Switzerland. There, we reviewed the group’s achievements in the past year, discussed current challenges, and formulated future research paths. During this three day event, we had a rather tight scientific schedule comprising of presentations of ongoing research activities, individual discussions in sub-groups and strategic plannings of the entire group. Furthermore, this year, it was a great pleasure to welcome György Hantal from FRASCAL’s project P12 and to intensify our collaboration in small-scale simulations of polymers and their fracture. Beyond science, we found also some time to explore the landscape around Waischenfeld and to even play some music together.
