NAFEMS DACH Student Award 2023/2024 for Eva Maria Richter
Eva Maria Richter receives the NAFEMS DACH Student Award 2023/2024 in the category of materials science and structural mechanics for her master’s thesis on “A ‘Capriccio light’ approach to study the capabilities of multiscale fracture simulations of thermoplastics”. In her thesis, Eva expanded the limits of fracture simulations of thermoplastic polymers based on molecular dynamics in terms of specimen size and gained valuable insights into the behavior of the fracture process zone. The NAFEMS DACH Student Award promotes talented students and aims to encourage them to pursue further work in the field of computation and simulation in engineering. It also recognizes the importance of academic institutions for the advancement of numerical simulation in teaching and research. We congratulate Eva for her great success and wish her all the best in continuing her work on project P6 in the third cohort of the research training group GRK 2423 Fracture across Scales (FRASCAL).
