Last week, from 19th to 24th July 2026, Sebastian Pfaller and Eva Maria Richter attended the WCCM-ECCOMAS conference in Munich, alongside a strong delegation of colleagues from both the Institute of Applied Mechanics and the Institute of Continuum Mechanics and Biomechanics. As one of the largest congresses in the field of computational mechanics and applied sciences, it provided a vibrant stage for cutting-edge research.
Our group contributed two exciting talks to the program:
- Eva Maria Richter: “Unraveling Thermoplastic Fracture: Bridging the Nano- and Microscale via Large-Scale MD Simulations”
- Sebastian Pfaller: “Scale-Bridging Simulations of Polymers: What Can We Learn for Fracture and Interphases”
Overall, the conference was a great success. Beyond the scientific sessions, it offered fantastic opportunities for scientific exchange, connecting with international colleagues, and reuniting with old friends from the global mechanics community.
